All around the world, people are getting wider and wider. Even the nations that never before had to worry about obesity, such as China, Japan and even Korea, are now seeing an epidemic. It seems that nobody is safe from the ever expanding waistline. Is the human race destined to be overweight? If not, what is causing this strange occurence? There answer is really just inadequate nutrition. Based on the old adage "we are what we eat" it should be clear that our health and nutrition is severely compromised. Our ever-expanding girth should come as no surprise when fast food restaurants spring-up like weeds, individual serving sizes can feed at least two people and food quality has decreased. There is a solution, however, and it can only come from nutrition knowledge.
Food Is Our Energy Source
People are so obsessed with food and how food tastes now, and even how much they get of it, that they seem to forget that food is simply fuel for the body. Food gives us the energy we need to get through our days. When our bodies have an overabundance of food, it is stored as fat. When we gain weight, it is not our body getting revenge, it's just the way our body is designed to work. Fat has several important functions for our body. It is fat which provides us with heat when we are cold, also the insulation to our bones and internal organs and even to our muscles is provided by fat only. When we eat too much, and we don't burn off those calories with exercise or everyday activities, the excess gets turned into fat. With so much food we consume nowadays, our fat is increasing at a quickening pace.
Don't Give Up
Fat does not materialize out of thin air, fat is something that we acquire slowly over time if we are not cautious. They say that knowledge is power, but that is only true if you use it. Eating healthy, taking nutrition supplements and going to the gym is the best way to fight fat. Know your enemy and you will be able to defeat them. Don't stop learning and use what you learn and you will be triumphant at whatever you do.
